Ukrainian Soldiers Deploy Beehive After Running Out of Grenades in Pokrovsk

In a bizarre yet effective move, Ukrainian soldiers from the 225th Separate Assault Regiment, led by Hetman Ivan Volodymyrovych (call sign “Shlyakh”), used an unconventional tactic to eliminate Russian forces in the Pokrovsk region.

While clearing a building, the soldiers ran out of grenades after encountering a basement full of Russian soldiers. Left with no other option, the Ukrainian soldiers turned to two beehives, dropping them into the basement where the Russian soldiers were hiding, according to a Telegram channel.

The video below captures the moment when the beehives were deployed.

The Telegram channel humorously noted that the Russian occupiers were swiftly “eliminated by Ukrainian combat bees.” The channel also reflected on the irony of the situation: “Perhaps this does not meet NATO standards. Perhaps these soldiers could have been wearing suits and holding meetings in a warm office somewhere. But it’s 2025, and Russia is still trying to destroy us, sparing neither the lives of its own citizens nor its resources—and it certainly has no intention of stopping.”

As the war between Ukraine and Russia drags on, the end is still not in sight. Despite the growing creativity and resilience shown by the Ukrainian forces, the conflict remains a harsh reality with no clear resolution on the horizon.
